Is it free?
Yes — free, no sign-up, and no watermark. Browser safety limits are 50 MB per file, 20 files per batch, and 50 megapixels per image.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Compression happens entirely in your browser; your files never touch a server.
Which formats can I compress?
JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC are supported. AVIF output is offered when your browser can encode it. Quality control applies to JPG, WebP and AVIF.
Can I compress an image to 200 KB or 500 KB?
Yes. Enter a target size and quality floor. ImageGarage searches for the highest JPG, WebP, or AVIF quality that fits without crossing the floor. A target is not available for PNG because PNG compression is lossless.
What quality should I use?
Start at 80% for JPG and WebP. Drop in 5% steps only if you still need a smaller file. PNG compression is lossless and may not shrink much. See the JPG compression guide.
