Edit a photo without uploading it
ImageGarage keeps the image, edits, and exported copy in your browser. The focused editor keeps the canvas visible while you open its tool panels, so you can make deliberate changes and review the result before saving.
What you can do
For a focused task, use Crop Image, add a text or logo watermark, or convert the image format. The editor brings several editing controls together in one workspace.
- Start with the Auto preset for private, image-aware corrections for exposure, shadows, highlights, contrast, saturation, temperature, and tint. Every correction can still be fine-tuned manually.
- Apply filters and adjust colour with 10 one-tap looks plus exposure, brightness, contrast, warmth, hue, saturation, vignette, grayscale, and blur.
- Blur the background without blurring the person using Portrait, Studio, Dreamy, Bokeh, Mono, or Spotlight effects. Subject detection runs privately on your device.
- Crop and straighten with exact crop fields, presets, composition grids, 90° rotation, or any angle.
- Add text and logos from one Text & Logo panel, then arrange them with freehand drawing, arrows, rectangles, circles, and 13 editable frame styles.
- Protect private details using pixelated or solid redaction areas.
- Arrange layers, undo or redo changes, and switch to the original for comparison.
- Export as PNG, JPG, or WebP with quality, dimensions, and aspect-ratio locking.

FAQ
How does the Auto preset work?
The Auto preset analyses a small copy of the photo on your device. It measures the tonal range, clipping, colour cast, and saturation, then applies conservative corrections that remain editable and undoable. The original image is not uploaded.
Is my image uploaded?
No — the editor runs entirely in your browser.
Can I paste a screenshot?
Yes — copy an image anywhere and press Ctrl+V on this page.
How do I add or remove text and logos?
Open Text & Logo, then choose Text or Logo. An empty text item is cancelled automatically if you switch tools without typing. Select an existing item to edit it, and use its on-canvas × control or the Delete action to remove it.
What size image can the editor open?
The editor accepts images up to 50 megapixels, 50 MB, and 16,384 pixels on either side. Very large images still depend on the memory available in your browser and device.
Which formats can I export?
Export as JPG, PNG, or WebP. You can choose output dimensions, quality, and whether to preserve the aspect ratio. Save downloads the edited file directly using those settings.
Can I hide sensitive information in a photo?
Yes. Use the redaction tool to cover selected areas with a solid or pixelated block before exporting a new copy. Review the exported image before sharing it.
How does background blur keep the person sharp?
An on-device portrait model identifies the subject once, then the editor composites the sharp subject over a separately blurred background. Edge blend softens the transition without blurring the person; Refine subject edge can contract or expand the detected outline around hair and clothing. For difficult edges, Brush refine subject lets you Unblur parts that should stay sharp or Blur leftover background with a soft round brush and undo/redo. The model is loaded from ImageGarage, while your photo stays on your device.
Can I continue an edit after closing the editor?
Yes. Photo Editor automatically keeps one recoverable draft in this browser for up to 7 days. It includes the editable base, text and logo objects, adjustments, and subject-mask brush edits. The draft is never uploaded, and you can delete it from the Photo Editor page.
Can I customise a photo frame?
Yes. Choose from 13 frame styles—including gallery, instant-photo, film, vintage, ticket, corner, neon, and dark matte treatments—then adjust the frame size and colour.
