How to add a watermark to a photo

A watermark is most useful when it stays readable without covering the reason someone wants the image. A small logo or line of text near an edge is usually clearer than a large mark across the centre.

Add text or a logo

Open Watermark Image and add the photo. Choose Text for a name, handle, copyright notice, or short label. Choose Logo to place a PNG, JPG, or WebP logo. You can use more than one watermark when a logo and a text credit are both useful.

Place it carefully

Drag the watermark into position, then adjust its size and opacity. Check that it contrasts with the part of the photo behind it. If the image may be reposted or cropped, avoid putting every identifier in the extreme corner.

Export a new copy

Download the finished image after reviewing it at a useful size. The original and your logo stay on your device while processing. Keep the unwatermarked original for future edits or a different use.
