Flipping horizontally mirrors an image from left to right. It can change visual direction or correct some front-camera images, but it also reverses text, logos and asymmetric objects.
Decide whether mirroring is appropriate
Use a horizontal flip when the subject should face the opposite direction or a selfie was saved opposite to the expected view. Do not flip documents, signs, branded products or uniforms unless reversed details are acceptable.
Add and flip the image
Open Rotate Image, choose the file and use the horizontal flip control. The preview updates immediately, allowing you to compare the direction of faces, movement and composition.
Check text and recognizable details
Inspect signs, clothing, vehicle markings, clocks and logos. Mirroring makes their orientation inaccurate even when the overall photo looks natural.
Use vertical flip only for a specific need
A vertical flip turns the image across a horizontal axis and usually makes ordinary photographs appear upside down. It is more useful for special layouts, reflections or correcting an already inverted asset.
Export a separate copy
Download the flipped image and keep the source. When processing several images, use batch download only after checking that every file should receive the same transformation.
