How to remove image metadata
- Add JPG, PNG or WebP images.
- ImageGarage inspects the source, then rebuilds it from visible pixels without copying embedded metadata.
- Review the before/after report. Downloads are enabled only after the clean copy passes verification.
- Download each verified copy, or all files as a
.zip.
FAQ
How do I know the metadata was removed?
Open the before/after report below each result. ImageGarage only marks an output verified when no private EXIF, GPS, XMP, IPTC, MPF, text, comment, timestamp, or unknown ancillary metadata remains.
What metadata does this remove?
The downloaded copy is re-encoded from visible pixels, so embedded EXIF, GPS, camera, date, thumbnail, and similar metadata are not carried into the new file.
Does the image leave my device?
No. Reading, inspection, re-encoding, and verification happen locally in your browser.
Does removing metadata change image quality?
PNG output remains lossless. JPG and WebP are re-encoded at high quality, so a small visual or file-size change is possible.
