How to make a passport photo
Use this tool for photo dimensions and printable sheets. To arrange photos of an identity card on a document page instead, use Document Scanner's ID card sheet. To prepare an image for a file-size limit, try Compress Image.
- Choose the country or document preset.
- Add a front-facing portrait, crop if needed, and align the head with the guide.
- If permitted for the application, remove the background, choose a colour, and inspect or refine the subject edge.
- Choose paper, copies, page margin, and photo gap while checking the live first-sheet preview.
- Create the photo and print-ready PDF, then print at 100% or actual size—disable “Fit to page”.

ImageGarage creates the selected dimensions and print layout. It does not validate identity, background quality, expression, shadows, clothing, or every current government rule. Requirements can change; verify the official instructions for your specific application. Most Indian PSK and POPSK applicants are photographed at the appointment and do not need to supply a photo.

Does this guarantee acceptance?
No. Correct dimensions and guides help, but only the issuing authority can accept a photo.
Can I print several copies?
Yes. Choose 4×6, A4, or Letter paper and up to 60 copies. Multi-page PDFs are created automatically when needed.
How should I print the PDF?
Use 100% or Actual size. Turn off Fit to page so the physical photo dimensions remain correct.
Why is there no Canada passport preset?
Canada requires in-person or mail application photos to be taken and printed by a commercial photographer, and it rejects software-cropped or home-printed photos. Online renewals also require an unaltered file directly from a commercial photographer.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Image editing and PDF generation happen locally in your browser.
How does background removal work?
A portrait model identifies hair, skin and clothing in your browser. The model downloads from ImageGarage on first use; your photo stays on your device. Removal is applied before cropping, so zooming and rotating keep the same outline. Inspect the edges, use Refine edges for the overall outline, and use Brush refine subject to restore or erase specific areas. If processing fails, your original photo is preserved.
